Selection of building and surrounding area by Feng Shui
Feng Shui is as beneficial for those living in houses and buildings as it is for other places. It is a fact that most of us can neither choose the building we live in nor design it according to our taste. You can definitely do so much that you can bring more or less change in it. But if you can choose the location for your building then you will be lucky.
Whenever you go to live in a house or apartment, first of all, carefully inspect the view around it. Behind the building, the background should be protected from the hills or any other building, also check that there is no shark coming around.
The height of all those buildings should be the same. It is inauspicious if a tall building is nearby. If there is any kind of wall, board, electric pole or any high hill in front of the entrance, it will affect ‘Chi’. Will stop her from coming in.
Your building should be in harmony and also in balance with the rest of the surrounding building. Along with this, make sure that the area around you is well balanced with gardens and open spaces so that ‘qi’ can accumulate there.
But if you are getting your house built, then definitely keep in mind that its design should be such that it is in harmony with your birth element.
Building Position on the road
The position of the house on the road affects the effect of ‘chi’ to a great extent. If any such defect is arising, then it can be rectified by taking remedies according to Feng Shui.
Where the road ends if the house is there then such a house is not lucky for the owner of the building. In such a situation, to make that house prosperous, one of the remedies given below should be used.
1. A mirror should be installed on the house facing the road.
2. Plant a row of trees in the middle of your house, where the road ends. If the house is situated on a sharp curve of the road, then this condition is also inauspicious.
To overcome this deficiency, the owner of the house should plant trees in front of the house.
The presence of water around you, that too the presence of natural water, is considered very sacred. River, lake, pond view is very auspicious. The fountain in front of the house is also considered sacred. The ‘chi’ here is lucky for the residents.
If the pond is oval or round then it is auspicious. A square or rectangular pond forms a shar. It is important to keep the water clean. Along with these, the surrounding trees show the abundance of ‘chi’. It benefits the residents of the house. The open space in front of the house is considered very good due to the accumulation of qi.
For the purpose of prosperity, the building should be in such a place where the environment is green. If there is any drain flowing around there, it should be covered.
To make life prosperous, it is necessary that there is no cremation ground or graveyard in front of your building. If so, a row of trees should be planted in front of the house.
There should not be any ruins in front of your building, there should not be any temple, mosque or church in front of the house. If so, to remove its effect, trees should be planted.
The shape of the building from the point of view of Feng Shui
From the point of view of Feng Shui, normal shaped buildings are better than irregular shapes and it is beneficial to have square, rectangular, round or pa-kua shape. A triangular or L-shaped house is not considered auspicious. An L-shaped building indicates a part to be removed. The irregularly shaped building gives the feeling of missing some part. U(n) shaped buildings are inauspicious according to Feng Shui.
In the above picture L (S) shape is shown which is not auspicious according to Feng Shui. But there are all kinds of remedies in Feng Shui Vastu Shastra. If those measures are used properly then defects can be removed.
There are two types of houses of this type.
1. Plant a tree in that part of the house which is not built, then the defect gets removed.
2. By arranging lighting on the part of the house which is not built, the defect gets removed.
You should also pay attention to the color scheme of your house. It should be properly harmonized with the color of your own individual element.
Like Indian astrology, color is an important part of changing fortunes in Feng Shui. Feng Shui believes that the auspicious color increases the luck of the person while the inauspicious color decreases the luck of the person.
In Feng Shui, color is the main controller that controls the flow of ‘chi’. Each color is representative of the basic elements. Colors have both positive and negative effects on humans. Whether humans are aware of any color or not, we express our reaction towards it. If we think that we are sleeping in red colored bedrooms, the colors give an emotional atmosphere to the rooms. Some colors excite us, some make us angry while some colors calm our emotions.
